The Lower Downtown Historic District was formed by an act of City Council in 1988, with the intention of encouraging the preservation and vitality of an area that is significant because of its architectural, historical, and economic value. The historic status granted protection to the community's historic resources by enactment of a zoning ordinance that includes building height limitations, as well as strict design guidelines for rehabilitation and new construction.

LoDo is a special neighborhood and merits special attention, but navigating the various processes can sometimes be complicated. So, here are some helpful links and resources related to historic preservation, construction, and design review in LoDo:
